6:30 pm
We meet Friday evening for dinner and talk. Location for evening meetup to be posted.
The workshop starts at 9 but you are welcome for bagels, donuts, fruit and drink at 8:00. If you want coffee there is a McDonalds just west of the studio on 7th Ave. For those with more sophisticated taste in coffee, there is a Starbucks on Central and Adams, you must not be subjected to my coffee.
This is a fantastic workshop. The studio is large enough to go from simple to wild, and we cover a tremendous amount of lighting concepts, controls and setups. It is a hands-on workshop. You will be doing your own work and shooting your own shots. I do not set it up and walk away like in other workshops, nor do we spend all day doing a couple of images. We do 'proof of concept' and the images/setups are shot for your files.
There are many things to learn, and I suggest you bring a pen/pencil and something to write on... clipboard for instance, or a notebook. I furnish the diagrams and papers you need, but taking notes is very important. I also suggest that you bring your laptop if you have one. I have files to share, and it is more expedient to share them directly to your hard-drive. We may also use the laptops to explore some of what is in the syllabus (workbook). If you do not have a laptop, no problem. Just let me know on the form below so I can have your DVD's ready.
Please take advantage of this workshop to learn as much as you can. I make no plans for Saturday evening, so I am available as long as anyone wants to stay. Sunday we like to end around 6 in the winter.
Bring:
Camera, lenses, preferably wide angle and telephoto
Big Lights if you have them (please contact me first)
Speedlight(s), and a remote system for triggering them. CLS is fine for
Nikon shooters, ST3's for Canon.
At least one stand for your speedlight.
An umbrella (small or medium, shoot thru, bounce or both - white or satin
white)
A reflector system. I recommend the 5inOne or the 6inOne systems.
At least 4 GIG of media. (We shoot a lot)
If you are signing up, it is imperative... really imperative for you to BOOKMARK THIS PAGE. It is where the current information for the workshop will be found. As new information becomes available, this page will be updated.
