This workshop is Full.
From our host George.
It's finally official, The Palm Beach Airport Hilton, will be our home base so to speak. Mr. Giannatti is staying there. So, if we keep him up late, it's only a short walk home FOR HIM. http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/PBIAHHF-Hilton-Palm-Beach-Airport-Florida/index.do
Our Friday evening meet up will be at the Tiki Bar out at the pool area. Let's plan on about 7-9. A little introduction and get to know each other so we can get right to work Saturday morning. FYI, you are on your own for food/drinks.
Saturday morning, at Freelance Photo Studio, West Palm Beach. I think only a few are new to the location, the address is, 1400 Forsythe Rd., WPB, FL 33405. Unit C. Official start time I think is 9:00am, but I'll be there 8:15 ish should you like to show up early. First discussion and demonstration then shooting in and about the studio. Lots of industrial settings to take advantage of.
Sunday, again I think a 9:00am start. We will start shooting at the Hilton property. Nice pool area and a lake and boat dock. I'm working on access to "Club 10" and a very nice meeting room. Can't promise, we'll see. Where we go from there is still up in the air. I have ideas, just nothing firm right now. Suggestions anyone?
The workshop starts at 9 sharp. Please be there at least a half hour beforehand to help setup, get your gear in place and settled so we can start lighting and learning.
This is a fantastic workshop. The studio is large enough to go from simple to wild, and we cover a tremendous amount of lighting concepts, controls and setups. It is a hands-on workshop. You will be doing your own work and shooting your own shots. I do not set it up and walk away like in other workshops, nor do we spend all day doing a couple of images. We do 'proof of concept' and the images/setups are shot for your files.
There are many things to learn, and I suggest you bring a pen/pencil and something to write on... clipboard for instance, or a notebook. I furnish the diagrams and papers you need, but taking notes is very important. I also suggest that you bring your laptop if you have one. I have files to share, and it is more expedient to share them directly to your hard-drive. We may also use the laptops to explore some of what is in the syllabus (workbook). If you do not have a laptop, no problem. Just let me know on the form below so I can have your DVD's ready.
Please take advantage of this workshop to learn as much as you can. I make no plans for Saturday evening, so I am available as long as anyone wants to stay. Sunday we like to end around 6 in the winter.
Bring:
Camera, lenses, preferably wide angle and telephoto
Big Lights if you have them (please contact me first)
Speedlight(s), and a remote system for triggering them. CLS is fine for
Nikon shooters, ST3's for Canon.
At least one stand for your speedlight.
An umbrella (small or medium, shoot thru, bounce or both - white or satin
white)
A reflector system. I recommend the 5inOne or the 6inOne systems.
At least 4 GIG of media. (We shoot a lot)
If you are signing up, it is imperative... really imperative for you to BOOKMARK THIS PAGE. It is where the current information for the workshop will be found. As new information becomes available, this page will be updated.
