"Brunette"
shot for Salon.

This was a location shot for a Hair Salon in Phoenix. I worked in a very cramped space in the lobby and we shot dozens of their clients for the website.

I wanted a stylish look so we went with minimal depth of field. This kept the face and hair in front in focus and dropped the focus off to the back of her hair.

Lens is a 100mm f2.8 at f4.

Lighting was a 200 W/S flash in a large umbrella. The umbrella was placed camera left with a large fill card to camera right. The fill card is very close to the model - just out of range of the camera.

The umbrella is very close to the model and the light wraps around her to light the background as well.

A medium sized fill was set below her and angled from camera right to camera left. This fill opened up the shadows that could have been caused by the dark floors.

10D, 100mm f2.8, shot Hi Jpeg with custom color balance.
