HomeSeattle Washington, August 9 and 10, 2008BREAKFAST MEETUP IS AT 7:30 - 8AM DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE HOTEL. RESTAURANT. NOTE: THIS IS NOW A 2 DAY WORKSHOP.
|
Workshop Information Here is what is happening for the workshop for the 9 and 10 of August: Very good news since we are a small group. I have confirmed the models for both days (Not MM models, so they will actually show up) and we are ready to go. Saturday we will be meeting in the hotel conference room
at the La Quinta Inn Seattle Sea Tac (Airport) Sunday we will be meeting down in Seattle near
the Space Needle. Exact spot will be determined at the Saturday
part of the workshop so we are all on the same page. I am scouting
it Friday afternoon. Please bring plenty of enthusiasim, cause
it is going to be a blast. |

NOTE:
If anyone has access to a set of studio lights (two or three heads) and
a softbox, that would be great. Please let me know. Thanks.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
We will be doing a lot of shooting on Saturday afternoon and all day
Sunday. I would very much like to remind everyone that it is a lighting
workshop, not a "model shootout." Even though we are a small group,
courteous behavior means that you take an appropriate amount of shots
and not turn your shoot time into a 'session.'
Models must receive their images. We have had too many issues in the past and absolutely need to make sure they receive them in a timely manner. Please, please commit to making sure that happens.
Wireless devices: Please bring your own triggers and we will put you all into groups that make sure the group has the amount of triggers to get the work done.
Also please bring any reflectors that you normally use as well as an umbrella and stand if you have one. If not, we can share and I am bringing my kit. If you are wondering what kind of reflector I recommend, it is most definitely the 5 in one with the diffuser inside that I love.

It is an all day workshop so be ready for it. We are going to shoot inside and on location. If you are attending and you have a favorite model, let her know about it and send her to the model info page on the Workshop site for more information. You will be shooting a ton of images, so be prepared.
Bring camera, flash, lenses and plenty of media cards. If you have a meter, bring it. If you don't know how to use your meter, you will after this workshop. In addition, bring a reflector if you have one and a stand if you have one of those.
When you sign up you will be asked for a deposit of $100. If for some reason I cannot come that money will be returned in full to you. I don't forsee that happening, but just to let you know. The balance will be due a week before and is deliverable to your host. You can make the check out ($199) to Don Giannatti and send it to your host to arrive at least a week before the workshop. Thanks.
We limit the amount of attendees per workshop, and the fee is the same as it is in Phoenix, $299.
Included:
Workshop Workbook with lighting schemes, ideas, charts, graphs, cool little arrows and stuff - and places for you take and keep notes on what we do.
Your choice: Lighting Essentials 1 DVD with Photoshop Essentials or my new DVD which will be shipping July on using simple tools for professional results.
Models. You will have a ton of images for your portfolio after this workshop. I do ask that you send the models images for their portfolios as well.
This workshop is about learning to light, not listening to me bluster on, so there is very little of that. We focus on taking your photography to the next level... and maybe two. I will add some more info to this page as it comes in.
